November 17, 2011 Summary...

Jin and Tim stumbled onto a train of drow bringing slaves back to their city, and when the drow saw their chemical torch, they decided to attack.  Luckily, the two were not so outmatched as three of the slaves were Cael, Fayden, and Roberta.  (Dennis the dinosaur was also captured, but being a beast of burden, was not terribly inconvenienced.)  During the battle, Thrakesh, (now the newly reborn Harbinger,) found the fighting and decided to join in.

The party defeated the drow handily, and as they were interrogating the one survivor, asked for a way out of the dungeon.  The drow stated, "the way you came in is no doubt closed, but if you wait until..." and a large lizard jumped from the ground and stabbed him with a spear.

Movember 10, 2011 update...

After venturing deeper into the cave, avoiding a shifting tunnel that made half the party vanish, the light at the tunnel suddenly vanished. Then it reappeared. Then there were two, and they were Will-o'-Wisps... and one of the stalagmites was a roper.

They all died. (Monsters, not party. That happens later.)

Then the party followed a tunnel into the lair of some abyssal-touched priests. A giant statue killed Thrakesh while Tim and Jin made a run for it.

November 2, 2011 summary...

The party decided to ignore the pull of Rellik's necklace and explore Dal Nystere.

Gaining access was easy enough as the entryway had no door and the party found the building completely reconstructed, but uninhabited. The five-story tower had a room for magical experimentation with a moldy library, but no furniture or decorations of any kind. The party was only able to ascertain a shrine to Sehanine was to be finished was through some chalk markings left on the floor from the builders.

The party then decided to claim the building as their own and Tim decided to put a magic ward over the entryway.

The party then decided to follow the summons and see where the amulet pulled.

It led to a clearing in the forest where the party was shocked, but not surprised, to find a horde of goblins rushing at them.  *

As a drumbeat grew in the distance, the party completely destroyed the goblin troop. As the last goblin was about to make a stand, two behemoths, one ridden by a goblin, burst through the trees, screaming a war cry while barreling down on the survivor.

The thundering of their feat the earth revealing a cenote 110 feet deep.  (Exactly.)  After Fayden fell and everyone else gracefully made their way down, a group of ethereal marauders attacked the party while some chuul flanked them.

Eventually the bad guys were killed and one of the behemoths died too.  I could write a very long depiction of the battle, but let's face it, the party did a good job and nobody really died.  Things were middling for Roberta, Thrakesh, and The Fayden for a while, but I never really doubted the outcome.

Anyway, the party found three more cards, (The Void, The Star, and The Comet,) a waterlogged note regarding instructions from a nature spirit and Splugg, some gold coins, and another minotaur statue.

A cursory reading of the history of the cards showed they were in the elemental chaos, an old man commanded a demon to bring them to him, a familiar view of the old man using the cards, more of the elemental chaos, and a well dressed goblin telling the viewer to give the cards to the people as a sign of good faith.

With night encroaching, the party decided to commandeer the other trihorn behemoth and ride it up the long passageway toward a distant light.

*I didn't mention this before, and I was remiss for it:  Thrakesh at this point asked, "What are they running from?"
